In the last five years since my husband was diagnosed with ALS, we have faced many hurdles. Living in the shadow of ALS is like being on a new planet.  With G-d's help, and the support of family and dear friends we have been able to reach some level of stability. Even though the disease has taken away R' Dovid's physical abilities and he is on a breathing machine, he is still able to keep up a daily schedule of learning.

We began this campaign when we found ourselves falling into debt and were afraid that we would not be able to keep up our home care.  We found YouCaring.com and thanks to your ongoing support, we have been able to hire day and night caregivers and handle many other never-ending expenses. Each month when we can pay for proper care, we are so thankful! We would not be functioning without your donations, but our challenges are ongoing so please feel free to share this campaign with your community and friends.

Our History: In the year 2011 my husband, David Frid, was diagnosed with ALS, which causes complete deterioration of the muscles in the body. In the beginning, he heroically fought to function on his own, even after he was confined to a wheelchair. At present, the disease has progressed to the point where he is now fully paralyzed, on a breathing machine and can only communicate using advanced computer technology. He needs 24-hour surveillance to survive.
