The summer is slowly coming to an end, and we are already preparing for the upcoming Elul zeman. Our children will, bezras Hashem, be starting the new zeman of learning in Elul, and the right beginning sets the tone for the quality of the whole year.
The bachurim are already busy with arranging their chavrusos; the girls are guessing who will be their teacher and who will sit next to whom…
And like all parents, we are already davening for the upcoming zeman. We know how much is hanging in the balance; we know how much heartache it could contain chas v'shalom; we know how much can be achieved within it, bezras Hashem.
And here is where we encounter the surprising, unprecedented bracha of the renowned mashpia Maran Hagaon Hatzaddik Rav Elimelech Biderman shlit"a for those who contribute to the orphans getting married in Av:
"Those who contribute $410 for the 41 orphans getting married in Av, will be zoche in the merit of this tzedaka that their children should have exceptional hatzlacha during this upcoming zeman and be a source of nachas."
We so much hope for hatzlacha in this upcoming zeman; Rav Biderman is blessing us not just with hatzlacha, but with exceptional hatzlacha! Outstanding hatzlacha. And for whom?
Harav Biderman is bentsching those who contribute to this fund that their children should go in the derech Hashem; should learn well; should progress well; should behave well; should be happy. Each child! Shlomo and Dovid, Chanie and Meir, little Sarie and maybe even baby Shmulik.
Each of them should be successful! We should have nachas from each of them!
There is no greater relief than to begin Elul zeman with this most unique bracha, from the mouth of Maran Rav Biderman shlit"a, and to know that we have a year of nachas awaiting us; that we can anticipate exceptional hatzlacha from our children this year!
How much are we prepared to spend to acquire such a bracha? How much money we shall be saving if we had such a bracha; we wouldn't need to spend hundreds or even thousands on assorted difficulties that could arise…How many buckets of tears will not be shed?!
We could receive such a bracha because we contributed…we opened our hearts and our wallets and assisted 41 (!!!) young, poverty-stricken couples to approach their chuppah in great joy…
There aren't many merits greater than this one. Every young couple, either orphaned or in a situation more desperate than orphanhood, will merit this month to start a new life. They've come a long, long way to get to this point, to be able to set up a bayis ne'eman…how much suffering…how much loneliness…how much pain can a child endure…
And now the great moment has arrived; but they have nothing. When we open our hearts and give from what Hashem has blessed us with, from the little we have for our family, to Hashem's children- there is no doubt that such a contribution makes a tremendous upheaval in Heaven, and the prayer of Rav Biderman on our behalf will enter into the exalted place where it needs to be to effect a yeshua down here.
The contribution to these orphans isn't just any contribution. It's a merit that comes at a critical moment, when sorrow and joy are hanging in the balance- and weighs the scale towards joy. It adds merit to the entire Jewish nation and establishes new families for Hashem and His Torah- and we merit to have a part in it!
And this wonderful bracha is the result… Nachas from our children, and exceptional success in the upcoming zeman!
